Celebrating 90 years of Forward Movement

For 90 years, Forward Movement has been supporting followers of Jesus in their daily walk with Christ.

Formed by the 1934 General Convention of the Episcopal Church, the Forward Movement Commission was first chartered to “reinvigorating the life of the church.”

Since the first publication was released in 1935, this beloved ministry has been stewarded be generations of faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Through publications, conferences, courses, and more recently podcasts, apps, and online prayer communities, Forward Movement continues to innovate and find new ways to inspire disciples and empower evangelists.

“God is always steadfast in his love,” remarks Executive Director Scott Gunn in his weekly Forward Today message. “I’m grateful for decades of steadfast work in response to God’s grace and mercy, and I pray that Forward Movement will keep us all moving onward for years to come.”
