Job Description
The Assistant/Associate Rector will be the third clergy person working collaboratively with the Rector and Associate Rector, serving a lively, progressive, and growing Episcopal congregation in a suburban community six miles from downtown Pittsburgh.  Worship, Spiritual Formation, Outreach, and Pastoral Care are central to the life of our corporate-sized parish. The Assistant/Associate Rector will coordinate, nurture our established Pastoral Care ministries supporting and empowering a large group of committed lay leaders – including Stephen Ministry, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, and many other pastoral care ministries, as well as participate in new initiatives. The Assistant/Associate Rector will also serve as the staff coordinator for the parish’s large Outreach programs, which serve over 7000 meals a year to those in need and collaborate with many community groups and organizations, broadening the parish’s impact across the region.  The Assistant/Associate Rector will share in priestly ministries, including preaching, administration of the Sacraments, teaching, and empowering lay ministry, and pastoral visiting.

St. Paul’s is seeking a transitional deacon, a newly ordained priest, or an experienced priest who is a strong preacher and has a collaborative leadership style. St. Paul’s is the largest congregation in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, with over 1800 members, 170 children enrolled in Children’s programs, and is affiliated with St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School.
