| Who We Are The Church of St. Paul and the Redeemer (SPR) is a joyful, multigenerational Episcopal community in Chicago’s Hyde Park–Kenwood neighborhood. Our congregation includes a diverse array of races, cultures, orientations, and faith backgrounds, all united by our desire to mirror the radical hospitality of Jesus. We value thoughtful preaching, beautiful liturgy, and a vibrant music program that celebrates diverse voices. We gather to worship, learn, and serve. Our rich history and commitment to the local and citywide community are anchored in the belief that every person is beloved of God.Our Strengths and Growth Edges SPR is proud of its strong lay leadership, creative ministries, and commitment to justice and community partnership. As we enter a new chapter, we seek a rector who is moved to collaborate with the church to help us live more deeply into our call to radical hospitality. We are hoping to establish greater opportunities to nurture spiritual growth, strengthen fellowship and stewardship, and guide us to discern our mission in changing times. We are seeking a compassionate rector who can nurture curiosity and dialogue amongst our parish by connecting our current lived experiences to liturgy. A strategic thinker who has a collaborative spirit to empower lay leadership and support us in discerning our shared identity will thrive. |
