Priest-in-Charge

The Trinity congregation consistently demonstrates what it means to be a “church family” to members and visitors. Our congregation understands the importance of empathy and kindness to each other and also exhibits it within the Robeson County community through outreach programs. It is a nurturing congregation that opens their arms to everyone who enters the church. As a small congregation, we are flexible, adapting to the changing needs of the community and congregation. We have a strong, active laity who are willing to work closely with the rector and are active in the Diocese of East Carolina. We are collaborating with other churches, especially the local Lutheran parish, to provide programs. Our goal is to become again a multi-generational place of worship. In the past we had an active college mission with the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. We would like to return to this mission.

We are seeking a priest who is comfortable providing guidance and spiritual  leadership to assorted generations within the congregation. The key qualities we are seek are: spiritual leadership, pastoral care, strong communication skills, community oriented, and visionary leadership. A  good sense of humor is also welcomed! It is important to us our Priest to is active within the Lumberton community, recognizes the distinction between preaching the gospel and preaching partisan politics (of any ideology), and strengthens, empowers, and encourages us to serve the wider community.
