St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is seeking a ½ time Rector to lead and support our congregation as we spread God’s loving word to the community around us. Located in western Howard County, Maryland, St. Paul’s has a proud history of service to others to include our thriving Thrift Shop which has been an important resource for those in greatest need in our community for nearly 40 years. We are also in partnership with a neighboring parish to welcome and assist an Afghan refuge family who have been living in a residence owned by St. Paul’s as they transition a new life in the U.S.
There is an interest in our parish in focusing our future efforts on the following priorities:
- Discerning how our ministries might be strengthened by exploring a variety of options for our future.
- Working to renew and revitalize the community around the church by building coalitions with partners that share our vision and commitment.
- Exploring how the church facilities might be adapted to become a great community asset that would increase building utilization.
We seek a Rector who is a strong preacher and can nourish us in the knowledge of God and God’s word. They should have excellent pastoral care skills to support our aging congregation and those in need in our community. They should be mission-focused, collaborative and innovative so they can provide guidance and support as we seek new and effective ways grow our congregation and spread God’s word in the broader community. |
