| St. Paul’s Parish, Centreville, MD seeks a full-time rector who can guide our parish family as we seek to grow and serve Jesus. Our new rector should be able to: • Lead, preach and teach to a theologically diverse congregation. • Inspire growth without alienating. • Engage in strategic leadership that involves incremental change with a strong vision. • Cultivate a congregation of leaders. • Foster safe spaces and collaborative conversations in which we can disagree. A warm and compassionate pastoral presence is important to us. The four top goals identified by the congregation in our parish survey were: • Make the necessary changes to attract families with children and youth to our church. • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to reach new people and incorporate them into the life of the church. • Provide more opportunities for Christian education and spiritual formation at every age and stage of life. • Work to renew and revitalize the community around the church by building coalitions with partners that share this vision and commitment.A congregation of 135 individuals, our average Sunday attendance has been stable for a long time. New members are regularly added. We are on solid financial footing. Our historic church and rectory were recently restored. Located next to the Washington DC-Baltimore metropolitan area on Maryland’s gorgeous Eastern Shore, the beauty and natural diversity of the Chesapeake Bay lie at our doorstep. |
