StoryMakers NYC launches creative Advent Sunday School resources for churches

StoryMakers NYC, a non-profit creative studio reimagining spiritual formation for a new generation, invites churches to experience a four-week Advent adventure designed to help children encounter the season of Advent through art, imagination, and play.

Rooted in the rhythms of the lectionary and New Testament, StoryMakers’ Advent curriculum invites kids to retell the Gospel story in their own words and imagery — making connections between Scripture and daily life through wonder and creativity.

Churches that begin a StoryMakers annual subscription with Advent receive:

• A four-week Advent curriculum, including an original Christmas pageant script, memory cards and digital extras to get the party started
• Free training and individualized support from the StoryMakers Team
• Church subscriptions include three seasonal shipment boxes annually, making it easier than ever to plan a smooth, fun, and engaging Sunday School experience while guiding kids through the Bible all year long

“Advent is a season of waiting, wonder, and storytelling,” said Melina Luna Smith, Executive Director of StoryMakers. “We want to help churches invite kids to experience the Gospel not just as something to learn, but as a story they can play, create, and live into.”

Alongside its Sunday School materials, StoryMakers has released a brand-new Advent Calendar, available in bulk for congregations and families. This beautifully designed resource guides households through 25 days of peace, hope, joy, and love with Scripture, art, and social-emotional prompts that nurture faith and connection at home. In addition, churches and families are invited to explore the expanded Advent Collection — including the Advent Theatre House, Baby Jesus stickers, Puppet Packs, Digital Posters, and Pageant Scripts — all created to foster creativity and connection throughout the Advent season.
