Spiritual formation resources rooted in original blessing
Everything Via Forma offers is designed for busy clergy, lay leaders, and anyone seeking authentic, transformational encounters within or beyond church walls
Via Forma, a startup nonprofit that imagines, writes, designs, publishes and sells, and trains people in the use of a line of broadly accessible and well-designed spiritual formation tools, officially launched this summer. Founded by author, speaker, pastor, and spiritual director Danielle Shroyer, Via Forma was built within the theological framework of original blessing: a beautiful, unbreakable gift from God that empowers our spiritual growth and maturity.
Additionally, all Via Forma resources were crafted to be:
Accessible
We create approachable inroads to our most difficult spiritual tensions and topics that won’t exclude seekers or those without specialized theological training.
Unconfined
We honor the deeply rooted traditions of formation within the institutional church and the needs of today’s spiritual “nones and dones” who seek a richer spiritual life outside its walls.
Refined
We recognize that many spiritual formation resources don’t engage deeply enough, so we have invested the required time and space, silence and renewal, money and research — and room for early failures — to develop remarkable, quality resources.
What’s Available
The Celtic Way (Annual Theme): The Celts wove the threads of faith together beautifully, and our renewed interest in Celtic Christianity reveals how we are longing for these lost threads to be rediscovered and reintegrated today. This hefty collection of resources provides a road map for integrating Celtic Christianity into your program year.
Prayer Portals (12-Month Structure): Rather than reading another book about prayer, what if you spent a year practicing twelve different ways to pray?
Poetry Church (6-Week Small Group): Poetry Church invites everyone — those who’ve never read a poem, those who can recite poems for memory, and everybody in between — to explore poetry as a form of Divine and self exploration.
Leading Small Groups for Formation (Two-Hour Workshop): Built for church staff who work to empower teachers and volunteers, this workshop combines practical application with time-tested insights that will give your team confidence to lead with a focus on formation.
About Our Founder
As a pastor and spiritual director, Danielle Shroyer brings over twenty years of experience working with people as they seek to live closer to their souls. Much of those twenty years has been spent in areas of theological and spiritual innovation, inviting people to reimagine new ways of being while rediscovering ancient paths of wisdom.
Shroyer has a particular heart for the spiritual-but-not-religious community and has long advocated for fresh approaches to spiritual community. She offers guidance to struggling and transitioning congregations searching for new ways to embody their purpose.

- Traditional and progressive faith communities exploring life-giving approaches to spirituality
- Spiritual directors and formation leaders
